Last updated October 23, 2026
1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how 404 Development ("404 Development", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use our websites, software, communities and related services, including 404development.com, GTAPoliceMods, FivePD and GPM Studio (together, the "Services").
404 Development is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service.
2. Information we collect
We collect information in three ways:
- Information you give us, such as when you create an account, upload a file, post in the community, buy a license or contact us.
- Information collected automatically when you use the Services, such as device, log and usage information.
- Information from third parties, such as sign-in providers (for example, Discord) and payment processors.
Depending on which Services you use, this can include:
- Account details: username, email address, password (stored in hashed form), profile picture, bio and settings.
- Content: files, images, videos, descriptions, comments, reviews, forum posts and messages you send through the Services.
- Purchase details: what you bought, when, the amount, billing country and the payment status. Card details are handled by our payment processors, and we do not store full card numbers.
- Communications: emails and support requests you send us, and our replies.
- Device and log data: IP address, browser and operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, timestamps and error logs.
- Usage data: how you interact with the Services, such as downloads, searches, likes, follows and features used.
3. GTAPoliceMods
When you use GTAPoliceMods, we collect:
- Your account and profile information, including any linked accounts such as Discord.
- Files you upload, along with their titles, descriptions, images, version history and the permissions you set.
- Forum posts, comments, reviews, ratings and private messages.
- Download history, likes, follows, favorites and notification preferences.
- Reports you submit and information about moderation actions on your account.
- IP addresses and device data linked to uploads, posts and sign-ins, which we use to prevent spam, abuse and ban evasion.
Uploaded files may be automatically scanned for malware and rule violations. Private messages are not public, but our moderation team may review them when they are reported or when needed to investigate abuse.
4. FivePD
When you buy, install or use FivePD, we collect:
- License information, such as your license key, the account it belongs to and the purchase it relates to.
- Server information needed to check and manage your license, such as the server's IP address, server name, license usage and the FivePD version installed.
- Technical data such as error reports and performance information, which helps us fix bugs and improve the software.
- Support requests and any server details you share with us when asking for help.
Server operators and players. If you run FivePD on your own server, you decide what information your server collects about its players (for example, in-game characters, records or logs), and you are responsible for that information. Unless stated otherwise, that player data stays on your server and is not sent to us. Players should contact the server operator about it.
5. GPM Studio
GPM Studio is in development. During preview, beta or early access, we may collect your account information, the projects and content you create, feedback you give us, and diagnostic data such as crash reports and feature usage, to help us improve the product.
We will update this policy before or when GPM Studio is released if it collects other kinds of information.
6. 404development.com
Our company website does not have accounts, forms or analytics, and does not set cookies. When you visit it, our hosting provider records basic log data (such as your IP address, browser and the pages requested) to operate and secure the site. Your browser also loads fonts from Google Fonts and images from our content delivery network (cdn.404development.com), which receive your IP address as part of a normal web request.
7. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, run and maintain the Services, including hosting and delivering files.
- Create and manage accounts, and let you sign in with linked services.
- Process purchases, deliver and check licenses, and prevent payment fraud.
- Show your profile and content to other users as you choose.
- Moderate content, enforce our Terms and community rules, and prevent spam, abuse, cheating, malware and ban evasion.
- Respond to support requests and other messages.
- Send service messages, such as security alerts, receipts and important changes.
- Send optional updates or newsletters, if you have chosen to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Understand how the Services are used, fix bugs and develop new features.
- Meet legal obligations and protect the rights and safety of our users and of 404 Development.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
8. Legal bases
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or a similar jurisdiction, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Contract: to provide the Services and licenses you have asked for.
- Legitimate interests: to keep the Services secure, prevent abuse, improve our products and communicate with you about them, where those interests are not outweighed by your rights.
- Consent: for optional things like marketing emails. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: where the law requires us to keep or share information, for example for tax records.
9. How we share information
We share personal information only as described here:
- Service providers who help us run the Services, such as hosting, content delivery, file storage, email delivery, malware scanning, error monitoring and payment processing. They may only use the information to provide services to us.
- Sign-in providers such as Discord, when you choose to link or sign in with them.
- Across our Services, so you can use one account or license across GTAPoliceMods, FivePD and GPM Studio.
- For legal reasons, if we believe it is required by law, or needed to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the public or 404 Development.
- Business changes, such as a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. We will tell you if your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
- With your permission, in any other case.
10. Public information
Some information is public by design. This includes your username, profile picture and bio, files you publish, and your public forum posts, comments, reviews and ratings. Anyone can see this information, and it may be indexed by search engines or copied by others. Please think carefully before sharing personal details publicly.
11. Cookies and similar technologies
GTAPoliceMods, FivePD and GPM Studio use cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) for:
- Essential purposes: keeping you signed in, remembering your settings, security and fraud prevention. These are needed for the Services to work.
- Analytics: understanding how the Services are used so we can improve them. Where required by law, we only use these with your consent.
You can control cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the Services from working. 404development.com itself does not set cookies.
12. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy:
- Account information is kept while your account is open, and deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period after you close it.
- Content stays up until you or we remove it. Public posts may be kept in anonymized form after an account is deleted so that discussions still make sense.
- Purchase and license records are kept for as long as the license is active and afterwards as long as needed for tax, accounting and legal reasons.
- Logs are kept for a limited time for security and troubleshooting.
- Moderation records, such as bans, may be kept longer to stop banned users from returning.
13. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords and limited staff access. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of your information. Please use a strong, unique password, and tell us if you think your account has been compromised.
14. International transfers
Our team and service providers may be located in different countries, so your information may be processed outside the country where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect it.
15. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy.
- Correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Delete your account and personal information.
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, certain uses of your information.
- Receive your information in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent where we rely on it.
- Complain to your local data protection authority.
Many settings, such as your profile and email preferences, can be changed in your account. For anything else, contact us at hello@404development.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
16. Children
The Services are not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country, if higher). We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change is significant, we will give notice, for example on our websites or by email.
18. Contact
